Oct. 13–The well-trodden road to New Hampshire’s primary continues this week, with several visits by candidates for the Republican presidential nomination. In addition to Jeb Bush (see related brief), Ohio Gov. John Kasich, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas, will all be in the Granite State this week.
Today, Kasich is scheduled to attend a town hall meeting in Bow at 12:30 p.m., at 91 Bow Center Road. Next, he’ll visit the Tilt’n Diner at 2:15 p.m., at 61 Laconia Road in Tilton. He’ll continue on to Littleton for two events to close out his day: a walking tour of the town’s Main Street at4:15 p.m., starting at the Littleton Opera House, 2 Union St., followed by a 7 p.m. town hall meeting at the Littleton VFW at 600 Cottage St.
Kasich will be back on the stump Wednesday, stopping in at Fadden’s General Store at 109 Main St., North Woodstock, at 11 a.m., before moving on to a town hall meeting in Plymouth at noon at The Common Man Inn, 231 Main St. From there, he travels to Biederman’s Deli at 82 Main St., also in Plymouth, at 1:20 p.m. At 4:15 p.m. he’s slated to visit the American Police Motorcycle Museum in Meredith, at 194 Daniel Webster Highway, before closing out the day with a house party in Center Tuftonboro hosted by Beverly Bruce at 6 p.m. at 300 Mountain Road.
Rubio will be in New Hampshire Wednesday for a morning house party in Portsmouth. The event, at the home of Anne Emily Caplin, starts at8:30 a.m., at 180 FW Hartford Drive. That afternoon, he’ll attend a town hall meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the Adams Memorial Opera House, 29 West Broadway, Derry.
Huckabee’s itinerary this week includes an address Friday to the N.H. Housing Summit at 1:15 p.m., at the N.H. Institute of Politics at St. Anselm College, 100 St. Anselm Drive, Manchester. The summit runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and features a long list of speakers that includes Huckabee, fellow presidential candidates U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R- S.C.; New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie; Martin O’Malley, a Democrat and former governor of Maryland and George Pataki, a Republican and former governor of New York. Also scheduled to speak is U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R- N.H., and Scott Brown, the former U.S. senator from Massachusetts who made an unsuccessful attempt to unseat U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D- N.H., in 2014. That evening Huckabee will attend a backyard barbecue at Brown’s Rye home. The event is at 5 p.m. at 33 Ocean Ave.
