The so-called “Women’s March on Washington” the day after Donald Trump’s inauguration went off without widespread violence or bloodshed.
And that has some liberals furious.
“Ijeoma Oluo, editor at large of feminist website The Establishment, said the reason no one was arrested was that the marchers were primarily white women,” The Washington Times reports.
“To brag that no one was arrested at a march that was filled with white women, as if that is an accomplishment that you really had a huge part of, what it does is it says that marches that were branded as ‘disruptive’ are less than,” Oluo told a Boston public radio station.
Perhaps the reason they weren’t arrested is they limited their violence and vulgarity to speech, not actions.
You can’t be arrested if you don’t break the law.
While anti-Trump leftists set fire to cars, smashed windows and sent six police officers to the hospital, the Women’s March limited it offenses to Madonna saying she fantasized about blowing up the White House.
She didn’t actually show up with incendiary flares, like the liberals who marched the day before.
That’s not good enough for Oluo, a Black Lives Matter supporter.
She went on a tirade, slamming the Women’s March for not being violent enough, and blaming its white participants.
The Times reports:
Racial tensions were evident during the Women’s March. Some demonstrators held signs reading, “Being Scared Since 2016 Is Privilege,” “White Women Elected Trump” and “White Lives Matter Too Much.”
Echoing a sign that read, “I’ll see you nice white ladies at the next #BlackLivesMatter march, right?” Ms. Oluo wondered where the legions of women’s rights marchers had been during Black Lives Matter protests after police shootings.
“I think that [there are] a lot of women who had come out before, but I also know that I didn’t see a lot of these people at any Black Lives Matter marches,” she said. “I’ve been there. I’ve been looking around.
Are liberals going to start having marches to protest each other?
