Community parade canceled after liberals threaten violent attacks

Far-left protesters have run amok in the Pacific Northwest ever since Donald Trump’s election, and Portland has arguably seen the worst of it.

Officials have done next to nothing to stop the disruptive and violent “antifa” taking over the city, and now they’ve further bowed to threats of violence by canceling an annual parade:

Organizers of the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade scrapped the Saturday event after receiving an anonymous email offering a choice: Either bar the Multnomah County Republicans or “we will have two hundred or more people rush into the parade into the middle and drag and push those people out.”

“You have seen how much power we have downtown and that the police cannot stop us from shutting down roads so please consider your decision wisely,” said the email from

James Buchal, chairman of the Multnomah County Republicans, said the cancelation sends a message that the protesters “control the streets of Portland.”

Indeed, they very well might. Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler spent two nights in a hotel after protesters blocked access to his home — and he’s a Democrat.

Buchal put it best: “The bottom line is that Portland needs to choose between supporting terrorist thugs and protecting average citizens who want to participate in their community.” Right now, city officials are making it loud and clear that appeasing violent protesters trumps the freedom and safety of its citizens.
