2018 Elections, Ted Cruz

RACE OF THE DAY: Ted Cruz reveals this surprising number

HOUSTON, Texas — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today announced more than $2,000,000 in total was raised in the third quarter of 2017 with $6,384,309 cash on hand.

“Every day, Sen. Cruz is working to advance Texans interests in Washington, D.C. and his consistent fundraising strength is reflective of the Lone Star State’s endorsement of his leadership,” senior communications adviser Catherine Frazier said. “From securing much-needed relief in the wake of Hurricane Harvey’s devastation, to efforts to repeal Obamacare, cut taxes, rein in job-killing regulations, and confirm strong constitutionalist judges, like now-Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, Sen. Cruz is taking on every fight that Texas voters elected him to take. And he will continue to lead the charge to ensure promises made to the voters are promises kept.”

In the third quarter, Sen. Cruz received 25,977 individual donations from 17,941 unique donors, with 4,728 first-time donors. He also received 24,768 donations less than $100. The average third-quarter gift was $76.

Cruz has proven himself not to honor his statements! He raised a fuss when the election was occurring even to the point of challenging trump. Today…Cruz does not support Trump who he promised to support! He has sided with the Democrats and has tried to undermine Trump,. the peoples choice for president, many times! I am from Texas and I am ashamed he is one of he senators from Texas…I will certainly work to prohibit his next election. A PERSON IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THEIR WORD AND PROMISES!

    • David Amstadt

Cruz seemed to me to be the best candidate for president, except for trying to get around the Constitutional requirement that the president must be a “Natural born Citizen”. A) neither of his parents were US Citizens when he was born. B) He was born in Canada. He should have demonstrated his reverence for the Constitution and not run. Instead should have thrown his weight behind the candidate he considered best for the job.

      • Joe Brake

A natural born citizen is anyone who was a citizen at the time of his birth as opposed to being naturalized at a later date, and one parent must be a citizen at the time of birth also. Cruz’s mother was born in the US, so to say that she was not is a lie. That matter was settled before he even ran for president.

      • DaveM

I admire your truth and the fact that he did run when he was not eligible to be president says a lot.

    • Joe Brake

If you are going to work to “prohibit his election”, that means you will be campaigning for a Democrat, so how will you be supporting Trump by trying to get a Democrat Senator elected? Do you actually believe any Democrat is going to support Trump’s agenda? There is no chance of Cruz not being elected. All the rating services have Cruz rated near the top of the list of conservative Senators based on his voting record for the past five years. He didn’t get his high conservative rating by voting with the Democrats, so you clearly have no idea what you are talking about on that score. The only Texas Senator not supporting Trump much of the time Is Cornyn, and he has more than five years to go before his term expires.

Open your eyes. There are other republicans and independents. View: http://www.lifedaily.com/story/20-fascinating-but-little-known-ted-cruz-facts/

        This will open your eyes.

        • Joe Brake

Open your eyes. Cruz is running unopposed in the primary. That means he has already won, if you can wrap yourself around that concept. The only people who were considering opposing him have already dropped out. If you vote for an independent, you might as well throw your vote in the garbage. I’ve told you, you need to stay away from those trashy liberal websites, unless you are trying to catch some serious disease.

          • DaveM

Explain how Cruz ran for president when he legally was not eligible for president. Open mouth and insert foot…he obviously is not for the people and does not support the Constitution!

          • Joe Brake

I explained that to David Amstadt above. Open your eyes and learn. If being an anti-Cruz birther was your real problem, you should have said so to start with, then everyone would have known for sure just how crazy you really are.

          • DaveM

I am NOT offended by your statement. Instead I believe that age should have brought wisdom. Apparently I am wrong about that too in some regards!

    • RacistWhitey

Dave — it seems like you are one of the idiots who believes every piece of BS that Trump feeds you. Cruz is the ONLY one in the Senate with a spine who has proven he won’t back down from anyone. He would be 10x the President that Trump is. However – Trump won (I voted for him after writing was on the wall for obvious reasons). This “he undermines Trump” crap is about the last straw. If Trump’s ego weren’t the size of Texas & Alaska combined – and if he would quit trusting turds like McConnell & Ryan as they repeatedly stab him in the back – he’d be a lot further along. He should man up, bury the hatchet with Cruz (its Trump who called his Dad a Communist and who smeared Ted Cruz) – & work to make Cruz top dog in the Senate. Does he have the guts or lack of ego to do that? Highly unlikely, but we can always hope.

      • DaveM

WOW…now who is talking things they have heard or read! During the campaign for the Republicans…all of them got together and made a deal to support the individual who was nominated. This is fact and probable by you with a little research or lord forbid…using your memory! Well after Trump got the nomination Cruz backed out and started his trash about Trump!

        I suggest you read: http://www.lifedaily.com/story/20-fascinating-but-little-known-ted-cruz-facts/

and better understand you tarnished and immobile tin man! Before this was published he removed himself from presidential contention.

        • Joe Brake

Cruz never agreed to support Trump until long after Trump won the nomination, and he did so only because as he said, that the alternative was unacceptable. The Republican candidates did not all get together and make a deal as you claim. What he meant was that he wasn’t going to vote for Hillary, not that he was going to forget everything which he had campaigned on to get elected to the Senate. One of those promises was to get Obamacare repealed, and that is something which Trump has recently said that he is in favor of; a straight repeal. Cruz is still trying to get a complete repeal, but that is hard to do when you have people like Flake, McConnell, Susan Collins, and Murkowski all trying to prevent anything from happening that might help with Trump’s agenda. Most Trump supporters have enough sense to stay away from trashy liberal websites, but apparently you not only go there, but you believe every lie you can find there.

          • DaveM

Apparnently you have forgotten how America was! Cruz is not a true conservative and only through Obama has he earned the title. Liberal websites are everywhere. You apparently have read many yourself because you beleive Cruz is for the people. He did not support a complete repel of ObamaCare!

His solution, which is being touted as a “Consumer Freedom Option,” would allow insurers that sell Obamacare policies to also offer skimpier plans.

One set of policies would contain all of
the Obamacare protections, including covering those with pre-existing
conditions, offering all 10 essential health benefits and limiting
            consumers’ financial exposure.

The other plans would not have
to adhere to these rules, allowing them to offer less comprehensive
            policies at a cheaper price.

Details remain scarce, and it’s unclear whether Cruz’s proposed addition
to the Senate health care bill meets the chamber’s rules for passage
with just a simple majority of support. But the Congressional Budget
Office is reviewing it, along with several other changes being made to
the Senate legislation, known as the Better Care Reconciliation Act.

Learn before you accuse me of stupidity or liberal propaganda! Sounds like you have the wrong info…read and learn

          • Joe Brake

You don’t have even half enough sense to be a Republican, much less teach anyone anything.

          • DaveM

Thank you for allowing me free speech! This is a section where people can voice their own opinions. You apparently feel that your opinion is stronger than mine. Be a leader and stand up for things which are correct. You have only cut me down and tried to bully me into your thoughts. I got new…Freedom of speech is still here and you need to go back to the roots of what was your earlier life, maybe the military service you did to allow free speech and not try to impress others with your mentality! Every one has a right to speech and your statements have caused everyone to see that you are of closed mind and do not understand the Constitution. What a shame…I though age brought wisdom.

          • Joe Brake

It takes no understanding of the Constitution for you to just to keep repeating “Constitution, Constitution, Constitution, Constitution… Ted Cruz not natural born”.

          • DaveM

I know the Constitutional laws people are to have! You smack talking and trying to prove your opinion is better than anyone’s is an example of you not knowing the laws! Bet you voted for Bernie and you are one of many who still cry’s that Killary did not get the presidency. By you picture, with respect, you are older than most on here. You have seen a lot. You have experience a lot. Now you stand alone in the field with many crying people who profess one thing yet can not make a valid point except personal attacks! It is a shame that age should mean wisdom and I know there is an exception all the rules. You are one!

          • Joe Brake

What an idiotic fool you are!!!

          • DaveM

I grow tired of you sarcastic insults!

            ALL HAIL JOE BRAKE…EDOCIST!

        • RacistWhitey

You make the rather odd point that Cruz dared to challenge Trump during an election. Yes, of course he did – it was an election. As far as the candidates “getting together” to support Trump – you are twisting events. The candidates said they would support the eventual nominee when the MSM put them into that corner. Cruz eventually said he would support the nominee. Trump said he would do the same – and then reneged. Trump also then started his childish “Lyin Ted” campaign – which is flat out funny coming from Trump. Now Trump has been in office for 8 months. He’s proven himself a Narcissist, petulant, childish to a point never seen before in national politics. Was he a better choice than Clinton? Of course. But he’s a pathetic leader who’s done more deals with DEMs over 8 months that Cruz has in 20 years.

          • DaveM

There is no talking or trying to make sense with a liberal. Your name says it all!

          • RacistWhitey

LOL very funny – I was thinking the same thing. As far as the title – if you haven’t figured out that all Caucasians (especially those who contribute to society & don’t put up with Marxist MSM propaganda) have been branded as Racists – and embraced it – you have a lot to learn.

          • DaveM

I do have a lot to learn…but I know you have more to learn than I.

          • RacistWhitey

Respectfully, Dave — your responses to Joe do not reflect well. If you want to learn – not just parrot – read “the Debate on the Constitution” (the notes of Benjamin Franklin, Madison, etc as well as (of course) “the Federalist Papers”, & for a primer on the Christian basis of our Country – De Touqueville. Wouldn’t hurt to read the Communist Manifesto (its not a long read) and of course John Locke. Once you absorb those (not easy, the are dense w/history and knowledge) — try tossing out the MSM garbage (whether on Trump or others) – and form your own opinions. Read the Congressional record. There are fewer than 30 Conservatives in the Senate & Ted Cruz stands head and shoulders above them all. The smears that you and others parrot from the Trump Train are not worthy of you.

          • DaveM

Nice of you to offer reading subjects. I have already read all of them and my opinion is one is either for the betterment of the country, support of the government. and having the brass to stand up for what one believes. This country has endured more than eight years of neglect, sacrifice, and unlawfulness. Many people do not have a memory that goes back that far. There is indeed a swamp of people that have done nothing but bury themselves in a self greed seeking reelection and money. Before the eight years past, people accepted election results. People were proud to be in America an I for one am proud to say I gave twenty years of my life in the military for this country. I left the military different physically and mentally. Now we have those who are after their own goals and those who insult others because they are exercising their first amendment rights of free speech. The reading material can be placed in debate, development, society control, and words of wisdom from a created author due to fear of prosecution. Much of what you say falls in to the Communist Manifesto of separate and conquer, tell a lie long enough and it becomes the truth, and do not stand up for given rights but fight for new ones.

De Touqueville analyzed the improved living standards and social conditions of individuals, as well as their relationship to the market and state in Western societies. Democracy in America was published after Tocqueville’s travels in the United States and is today considered an early work of sociology and political science.

I doubt very seriously if you have read the Congressional records!

Allow e and others to exercise the first amendment without cramming your opinions down my or others throats! Perhaps accepting that which is will allow change.

          • RacistWhitey

Dave – I call bullshit. If you have read those books – they haven’t made a dent. The reading list wasn’t intended to degrade you – just to educate you. Your ramblings about “Much of what you…..” – are nonsensical. That fact that you feel put upon by the comments of others in a free marketplace of ideas reflects the real problem. No one is interfering with that right – you express your ideas, we express ours. Get over yourself. As far as Obama – The last 8 years were a natural progression for 60 years of DEM attacks on our laws and institutions. We are not likely to swing the other direction with DEMS in control of the MSM, schools, & other propaganda outlets. While that is a sad state of affairs – it is reality. Take a chill pill. No one is ramming anything down your throat. You’ll do your Country a lot more good if you get your head straightened out and toss the “victim” mantle. It doesn’t wear well.

          • DaveM

So …you tag team with Joe Brake…Pathetic!
ALL HAIL RACIST WHITEY AND JOE BRAKE!

Presidents of the Charmin tissue company!

As for me…I do not want to talk with either of the Edocist!
